A new track from the wonderful My Gold Mask - two posts in one day?, I must be on something; just coffee & cigarettes actually, omg!.
Yep, it's a fine cover of the early eighties hit for Kim Carnes, written in 1974 by Donna Weiss and Jackie De Shannon, first recorded by De Shannon for her album - New Arrangement - which if you know me, you'll know I've tried to find so's I can post the original... but I haven't got it yet, maybe tomorrow on a less slothful connection?.
Fine it is then, though I might have left out the nods to Val Garay's production, myself - picky so & so, ain't I just.

Not a big fan of the original, even less of this version.
:O... I do hope your connection peps up, sloth ha I like that term.. :)
Well I am a huge fan of the original..such a groove, such a hook...I have a couple of old 'ultrasound' mixes of said track and they are both rather splendid..will be happy to send them you along with an extended mix of her 1987 classic 'draw of the cards' ..maybe we can do a swap for the culturcide album (in individaul track form)..or maybe just email me at jackamo23ATgmail.com and I'll post yr them anyway...ps this cover is pretty good, takes a couple of listens but they certainly bring the spirit of the original with them.
